Meet Jeremy Nelson

About Me

Welcome to my blog! I’m Jeremy, born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. I’m a proud husband and father to my wife and 2 kids. I grew up as gear head around racing and started working on cars and motorcycles with my dad when i was a child. I started out as a certified auto mechanic in my late teens. Got my Class A CDL and drove long haul with my wife exploring the United States in my early to mid 20s. Now I work as a lead Traffic Signal Technician by day for the past 5 years.

I’m passionate about a wide range of hobbies and interests that keep me busy and fulfilled. Some of my hobbies include anything with an engine, computers and coding, woodworking, 3D printing and fixing things.

I’ve always been the person that friends and family call on when something needs to be fixed, from things around the house, electronic devices and computers, to anything with an engine. I love working with my hands and feeling the reward of solving complex problems that truly help and save money for my friends and family. I’m always there when they need me I want to share some of my skills and experience with the others. I’m hoping to bring a unique perspective to the DIY lifestyle and hope it brings value to even one person out there.

Why I Started this blog

I started this blog to share my journey, experiences, and knowledge with like-minded individuals. It also serves as a way for me to organize the sometimes random thoughts running through my head. My hope is that this blog will help me learn and grow as a father, husband, and skilled problem-solver with a passion for the DIY life as I navigate life’s challenges. I hope you find inspiration and useful insights here.

I’m no expert and don’t claim to be, I’m really good at learning and figuring things out. i just enjoy building, fixing, creating, while learning new skills and saving money doing things my way. You don’t need a lot of expensive name brand tools or a big workshop. I work out of my two car garage and buy most of my tools from amazon and harbor freight and have still managed to build nearly all of the furniture in our home and can fix just about anything from around our home to building a new engine and transmission for my 89′ Camaro.
